Our OSBM staff took a moment to celebrate the release of the Governor's Budget Recommendations for FY 2023-25 with our wonderful host, Governor Cooper. That's a stair full of hardworking, public servants.

#DYK that half of North Carolina's population is age 40 or older? As the state population grows older, there are many things to consider. One issue you might not have considered is the impact of ageism. Not sure what ageism is or what it means for North Carolinians? Check out this guest blog from our friends at NC Department of Health and Human Services, just in time for Older Americans Month! https://lnkd.in/enDzj_BP

It's all about balance. A balanced budget that is. Did you know that unlike the federal government, the state must maintain a balanced budget? That means our expenses can't exceed state revenue. That's why revenue forecasting is so important to developing and managing the state budget. #statebudgets #revenueforecasting https://lnkd.in/ebq4E56U
